๐ŸŽ“ The Standard 4.0 Scale

Most schools use a grading scale where A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and F=0. Your GPA is the weighted average of these numbers based on the credits (or hours) for each course.

โš–๏ธ Weighted vs. Unweighted

  • Unweighted: Every class is treated the same. An A in PE is the same as an A in Physics.
  • Weighted: Honors or AP classes get an extra point (A=5). This reflects the difficulty of the course.
๐Ÿ’ก Academic Strategy: Focus on high-credit classes first. A bad grade in a 4-credit lab is harder to recover from than a bad grade in a 1-credit seminar. Use our GPA Calculator to project your final standing.
